COB 6052 was ordered directly from Derek Hurlock, AC Cars Thames Ditton in early 1965 by Mrs. Anne Marjorie Ellen Shrigley Fiegl, a known sports car enthusiast, driver and collector. She was enthusiastically persuaded to buy the car due to her son’s prior experiences and zeal for the Cobra.

Before completion It came to light that insuring an 18 year old on ‘the fastest accelerating car in the world” would be an impossibility, the order was hence forth halted and COB 6052 was delivered to the Cheshire family home as a rolling chassis with matching engine / gearbox and promptly stored.

The Cobra remained unfinished and in storage until 1985, when the owner inherited the car following his mother’s passing. At this point, a deal was struck with Brian Angliss, owner of AC Cars Ltd. to complete the order to the original specification and colours utilising the original engine and gearbox with a new AC Factory jigged chassis.

From the owner; “In hind sight it was sadly agreed to Brian's advice that it was much better to build a new chassis on the original AC factory jigs, than to expend a large sum on the restoration of my original chassis. It was said the new chassis would be a far better unit than that produced at Thames Ditton with modern steel and welding procedures”.

Completed in 1991 by Brian Angliss AC Car Company, Brooklands all supervised and witnessed by the current owner.

Superbly presented having covered a mere 7000 miles throughout its life, currently residing in the South of France and is currently UK registered.

Maintained from day one by the owner, an experienced, successful period racing driver and professional mechanical engineer.
